WHY DO WE HAVE A TEACHER or CLASS BLOGS?
The aim of my Teacher and Class blogs are to offer 24/7 support and information to a learner who has access to the internet "Blogger.com" website.

HOW CAN THIS BLOG ASSIST VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS?
For Students:
Have you missed a class and stressed about falling behind in your learning? Don't be concerned; because, you can still participate in the class, or part of it, in your own time.  A student may listen to the teacher's audio explaining a particular topic.  A student my also view other materials, such as videos or web links, as posted by either their teacher or review and comment upon other students daily learning blog with whom they share agreed access.

There may be times when a student wants to compare their work, validate their understanding, or self-assess their progress against other students with whom they have agreed to share their blog.  Students may also collaborate with each other on projects using their blogs to record ideas, discussions, decisions and share documents or resources.  Students are encouraged to share their ideas, discuss issues and assist one-another as long as they do not breach plagiarism guidelines.

Often within the classroom, students find asking questions or requesting assistance a challenge; therefore, this blog may be used by students to direct these questions, in a variety of formats, to their teacher.  A student  may also want to advise their teacher confidentially about bullying or harassment.  This blog offers each student a confidential, recorded and preferred method to raise such issues by either text, audio or audio/visual.

For Parents / Carers:
Want to be more involved with your child's education? Want to learn more about present technologies and their use as a collaborative learning tool?  Want to follow-up on your child's learning progress as it is occurring?    Want to follow-up on immediately on your child's attendance?  Want to check study guides and homework schedules?  Want to discuss your child's learning easily via typed messaging or would you prefer leaving an audio/visual or audio only message directly to the teacher concerned?  All of the aforementioned and more may be achievable using the teacher and class blog's.

For Teacher:
The blog acts as a resource to follow-up on individual and group learning.  Comments may be left by the teacher on a students daily learning summaries or other postings as required.  Teacher may follow-up with or assist student's with queries out side of normal class times.  Individual assistance may be applied as required and help students to resolve issues by providing further information and links to research their issue.  This creates a platform for encouraging higher order thinking skills.

The teacher may also leave comments on a parent's or carer's blog as part of formal or informal communications. Issues can generally be dealt with more efficiently and effectively than otherwise possible.  This format is not intended to replace face-to-face communications; however, is a more effective method of achieving more regular contact than attempting to schedule mutually convenient meetings amidst the already busy schedules of teachers and parents / carers.
